According to the APC, the contracts were secured at an inflated cost of N14 million per borehole, with many of the projects allegedly left unexecuted.

The party contrasted this with similar borehole projects undertaken during the administration of former Governor Gboyega Oyetola, claiming that fully equipped boreholes were constructed for less than N2 million each at the time.

The APC accused Dr. Adeleke of wielding excessive influence in the state government, describing him as the “unofficial Governor-General of Osun State.”

The party also alleged that the governor’s elder sister, Mrs. Dupe Adeleke-Sanni, had taken control of administrative affairs, while Governor Ademola Adeleke had been reduced to a mere figurehead, referred to as the “Governor-in-Charge of Entertainment.”

The APC called for an immediate investigation by anti-corruption agencies into the alleged contract racketeering and financial mismanagement under the current administration.

“The cases of Governor Adeleke’s family members and officials using their closeness to government and privileged positions to corner undeserved contracts against extant laws abound.

“Dr. Deji Adeleke (the governor’s brother and father of the popular singer, Davido) has been entangled in this web of contract racketeering as his name has surfaced severally in the controversial borehole projects allegedly installed in selected wards in the state.

“He was alleged to have secured a borehole project for N14 million, many of which ended not being built. The similar borehole projects, but with all the ancillary facilities, were built in the health centres rehabilitated under our administration for less than N2 million each.

“It is painful that imaginary and audio borehole projects were allegedly superintended by Dr Deji Adeleke for insanely N14 million while similar projects, which are still functioning till today, were built for less than N2 million each during the administration of Oyetola.

“It is not a gainsaying that Dr Deji Adeleke has been entangled in this web of contract racketeering, as his name has surfaced multiple times in the controversial borehole projects allegedly installed in selected wards across the state. He was alleged to have secured a borehole project for N14 million, many of which were never built. Similar projects, which remain functional, were executed for less than N2 million during the Oyetola administration”the party further alleged.

Describing the situation as a mismanagement of public resources, the APC urged concerned authorities to probe the Adeleke administration’s contract awards and hold those responsible accountable.
