The former governor of Anambra state and Labour Party, LP candidate in the 2023 presidential election, Peter Obi has explained why he has not left the United Kingdom to visit Benue state.

This statement was contained in a post that Dr. Moses Paul, one of the aides of Peter Obi shared on his official X handle on Monday.
This is coming after some terrorists invaded communities in Benue State and killed several people.
In the post that surfaced online, Dr. Moses stated that during a phone conversation with the former governor of Anambra state, he said his greatest fear is that the governor of Benue state, Hyacinth Alia may not allow him to enter the state if he decides to end his trip in UK.
The former governor of Anambra state condemned the killings in Benue State. He said the governor needs to understand that his visit to the state is based on compassion and not for any political reason.
According to Dr Moses Paul, here is what Peter Obi said;
“Mo, if I cut short my UK trip to return to Benue, my greatest worry is, just as it happened when I tried to visit grieving people in Plateau, Niger, and other places, what if the Governor refuses me entry again?".
