 Paris Saint-Germain’s Ousmane Dembélé is riding high after the club’s Champions League triumph over Inter Milan on May 31, 2025, with his latest Instagram post sparking widespread discussion. The 28-year-old French forward shared an image of himself in the locker room, casually placing his boots inside the iconic trophy, a gesture that symbolized PSG’s first-ever Champions League title.

Adding fuel to the fire, Barcelona’s 17-year-old sensation Lamine Yamal commented on Dembélé’s post, saying, “Balón de Oro pronto. 🇫🇷,” translating to “Ballon d’Or soon.” Yamal’s remark, as noted is said to reflect the ongoing rivalry between the two stars, both of whom are frontrunners for the 2025 Ballon d’Or. 

ESPN reported that Dembélé had downplayed Ballon d’Or talk ahead of the final, stating, “A potential Ballon d’Or award is at the back of my mind.” His focus, he emphasized, was on securing the Champions League title—a goal he achieved spectacularly. PSG coach Luis Enrique has been vocal about Dembélé’s impact, telling reporters that, “He is a player full of confidence.” Enrique further praised him before the final, saying, “Dembélé has been one of the best players of the season… a real leader.”
