Trump claims Iran will halt Uranium enrichment, dismisses claims that Nuclear Program survived strikes

 U.S. President Donald Trump has asserted that Iran is unlikely to continue enriching uranium following the recent U.S. airstrikes on its nuclear facilities. He also dismissed Iranian claims that key components of its nuclear program had been moved before the strikes.

 

Speaking in an interview, Trump downplayed concerns about Iran’s nuclear ambitions, stating,

“The last thing they want to do is enrich anything right now. They want to recover.”
 

Mocking the idea of Iran restarting its nuclear program, he added, “Can you imagine after all that they say, ‘Oh, let’s go and do a bomb’? They’re not going to have a bomb and they’re not going to enrich.”

In a surprising remark, Trump called the U.S. airstrikes a “tremendous victory for everybody — even for Iran.”
He elaborated, “Look, they’ve got a country, they’ve got oil, and they’re very smart people. They can come back. I think we’ll end up having somewhat of a relationship with them.”

 

Addressing reporters at The Hague, Trump also pushed back against Iranian claims that enriched uranium had been moved out of the Fordow nuclear facility before the U.S. attack.

 

“I believe they didn’t have a chance to get anything out because they acted fast,” he said. “If it would have taken two weeks, maybe. But it’s very hard to remove that kind of material… and very dangerous.”
He added, “Plus, they knew we were coming. And if they know we’re coming, they’re not going to be down there.”

Trump’s comments come just days after the U.S. launched targeted airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear sites, a move that has triggered widespread international concern and calls for de-escalation.

 

 While Iran has condemned the attacks and accused Washington of aggression, Trump insists the operation was a strategic success — one that, in his view, will force Tehran to reconsider its nuclear trajectory.
