Rute Cardoso is the longtime partner of Diogo Jota. They met in high school back in 2013 in Portugal and stayed together ever since. She has always been a quiet and supportive presence in Jota’s life choosing to stay away from the spotlight while helping him build a successful football career. She supported him during his early days in Portugal his move to Wolverhampton in England and later during his rise at Liverpool Football Club

The couple officially got married on June 22 2025 in an intimate wedding ceremony held in their hometown of Porto.
