Napoli to make Osimhen captain, offers apology

According to an unconfirmed report, the Nigerian held a closed door meeting with the hierarchy of the Italy team including the owner, Aurelio De Laurentiis, on the stand-off with the former African Player of the Year.
At the meeting, it was gathered that the club management pressurized Osimhen to have a rethink and extend his contract for another two years.
The club, it was also learnt is ready to meet Osimhen’s earlier salary demand and to issue a public apology to the striker on the perceived ill-treatment meted to him during his stay.
As part of the concession to the Nigeria, the club owner wants to make the striker the club’s new captain as compensation.
Osimhen is expected to respond to the demands of the management in the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, after Fenerbahce, AC Milan is the latest club to show interest in signing Osimhen as new partner for Santiago Gimenez.
Meanwhile, holidaying Osimhen led several Super Eagles stars to the naming ceremony of the child of his sister, Blessing, in Lagos.
Obafemi Martins, John Ogu and Tolu Arokodare were among the special guests at the colourful ceremony for baby Akinsanya.
Osimhen’s older sister, who is married to player’s agent Dayo based in the United States of America.
The striker is the last child of a family of seven.
