Victor Osimhen’s €75m clause only for foreign clubs — Ex-Napoli Chief

 Former Napoli sporting director, Pierpaolo Marino has said that Serie A clubs are unlikely to meet Victor Osimhen’s €75 million release clause, which is effectively set for foreign clubs.

 

Speaking to RAI 2, Marino explained that Napoli’s price tag on the Super Eagles striker reflects his global stature, but is realistically only within reach of clubs outside Italy.
 

“The clause is appropriate for Osimhen’s international value. He’s one of the few players in the world who can transform a team from not winning to winning,” Marino said.
 

He also cast doubt on Galatasaray’s reported interest, suggesting the Turkish club could be acting as a bridge for an eventual move to an Italian giant.
 

“My concern is this: Turkish teams have always offered players massive wages but rarely paid high fees for transfers. Now it’s claimed Galatasaray could activate Osimhen’s clause,” he said.

“If that happens, is the plan to bypass the clause for Italy and bring him here next year at today’s price for foreign clubs? I think it’s a reasonable suspicion.

“I’d be curious to see where he ends up in a year. Could there be an Italian club behind Galatasaray? Yes, in my opinion. It might sound far-fetched, but with Juventus and Milan interested, it would be a smart strategy.”
