Yusuf Buhari, son of the late President Muhammadu Buhari, received the President of The Gambia, His Excellency Adama Barrow, as he visited the gravesite of the former Nigerian leader in Daura, Katsina State.
President Barrow arrived at the Umaru Musa Yar’adua International Airport in Katsina, where he was warmly welcomed by senior officials.
He was subsequently escorted by a convoy led by the Nigerian Army to Daura, the hometown and final resting place of the late President Buhari.
The visit was a solemn moment of tribute and respect, as the Gambian leader laid a wreath and offered prayers at the grave.
He praised President Buhari's legacy of integrity, regional diplomacy, and democratic leadership, describing him as a guiding figure for West Africa.
Yusuf Buhari, joined by members of the Buhari family and traditional leaders, thanked President Barrow for honoring his father’s memory.


The Nigerian Army ensured full ceremonial protocol and security throughout the visit, underscoring the significance of the occasion.
The visit reflects strong diplomatic ties between Nigeria and The Gambia and highlights the late president’s enduring influence across Africa.
