Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has shed light on Marcus Rashford’s limited influence during his La Liga debut for the Catalan club. The English forward, who joined on loan from Manchester United, struggled to find space in Barca’s 3-0 win over Mallorca.

Flick, addressing reporters after the game and shared by Barca Universal, admitted that the opposition’s defensive setup made it difficult for Rashford to express himself. “Rashford didn’t have the chance to play more freely because Mallorca was crowded at the back. Also, the team played with less intensity, and I wasn’t happy about that,” he explained.
Despite Rashford’s quiet outing, Barcelona produced a commanding performance, with Raphinha, Ferran Torres, and Lamine Yamal scoring the goals. The result ensured Flick began his first La Liga campaign with a clean sheet and a convincing victory away from home.
The German manager emphasized that Rashford’s struggles were not solely down to his own performance but also a reflection of the team’s lack of sharpness in certain phases. He stressed the need for more fluidity and intensity, especially in breaking down compact defenses.
