André Onana’s Costly Error Hands Fenerbahçe Victory on His Trabzonspor Debut

André Onana endured a difficult debut for Trabzonspor, committing a costly error that handed Fenerbahçe a 1–0 victory in the Turkish Süper Lig.

The Manchester United loanee misjudged a low, powerful strike from Fred shortly before half-time, spilling the ball into the path of Sebastian Szymanski, who set up Youssef En-Nesyri to score the decisive goal.

Trabzonspor’s task had already been made harder when Okay Yokuşlu was shown a straight red card for a dangerous challenge on Kerem Aktürkoğlu earlier in the match.
The defeat marks Trabzonspor’s first loss of the season and adds to the scrutiny on Onana, who struggled during his time at Manchester United before being loaned out following the arrival of Senne Lammens.

Meanwhile, Fenerbahçe benefited from the contrasting fortunes of their own new goalkeeper, Ederson, recently signed from Manchester City, who helped them to a clean sheet. The stark difference between the two performances has drawn attention, intensifying pressure on Onana as he looks to rebuild confidence and consistency.
