United’s loss has become Barcelona’s gain. Rashford has made a strong start in Spain, with two goals and five assists in nine appearances. His latest contribution was an assist in Barcelona’s 2-1 Champions League loss to PSG on Wednesday.
Barcelona is now working to make Rashford’s move permanent. Although the club has a €30 million option to buy, they are reportedly trying to negotiate a lower fee, according to Sport.
Manchester United, having struggled to offload players this summer, is unlikely to accept a fee significantly below Rashford’s estimated value of €55 million. However, Sport suggests there may be room for negotiation, possibly through a reduced fee or a future loan deal.
