President Bola Tinubu has stated that he inherited Islam from his family and has remained a Muslim all his life.
In a video shared by TVC, Tinubu said his wife, Oluremi Tinubu, is a pastor. He said he has never at any time tried to convince her to leave her Christian faith or to convert her to Islam. He said that religion is a personal choice and everyone must be free to worship in the way they believe.
President Tinubu said he believes strongly in the freedom of religion. He said that both Christians and Muslims pray to the same Almighty God and are answerable to Him. He also said what truly matters is the love and kindness people show to one another
In Tinubu's words: "I inherited Islam from my family, I didn't change. But my wife is a pastor. And I never at any single time tried to convince her or convert her. I believe in the freedom of religion. We are praying to the same God, we are answerable to the same almighty God"
