Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Monday launched the state’s Digital Geographic Land Information Service with a call on property owners, developers, professionals, and public servants to adopt the innovation and support its long-term sustainability.
At the event held at the KW-GIS headquarters in Ilorin, Governor AbdulRazaq said the system provides a modern, automated, and transparent platform that ensures every parcel of land in the State is digitally captured, documented, and easily retrievable.
According to him, the system will eliminate duplication and loss of land records, shorten processing time for Certificates of Occupancy (C of O) and other land documents, enhance revenue generation through efficient land administration; and promote investor confidence by ensuring the certainty and security of land ownership.
Governor AbdulRazaq explained that the innovation is also a milestone in the state’s Ease of Doing Business reforms, which aim to make Kwara one of the most business-friendly states in Nigeria.

Governor AbdulRazaq commended the Ease of Doing Business Council members, the KW-GIS team, and technical partners for their diligence, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to delivering the project.
Also speaking, the State Chairman of Ease of Doing Business Council and Commissioner for Finance, Doctor Hauwa Nuru, noted that the launch of Digital Geographic Land Information Service has positioned the state among the leading states that leverage technology to create a more efficient and investor-friendly environment.
The Executive Chairman, KW-GIS, Alhaji Sulyman Abdulkareem, assured all stakeholders that KW-GIS would continue to improve service delivery and maintain the highest standards of transparency and professionalism.
