UCL: Why Barcelona lost 2-1 against us – PSG manager, Luis Enrique
Paris
Paris Saint-Germain manager, Luis Enrique has given a reason his team defeated Barcelona 2-1 in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.
Recall that Ferran Torres gave Barcelona the lead before Senny Mayulu equalized for the visitors before half-time
The match looked set to end all square at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, but PSG took advantage of Barcelona’s high line late on to snatch a winner through Goncalo Ramos.
Speaking after the game, Enrique said PSG defeated Barcelona because the French Ligue 1 champions were better than Hansi Flick’s side in the second half.
“It was an excellent match,” Luis Enrique told Spanish broadcaster Movistar Plus.
“When you see two teams playing clean, trying to hurt each other by playing football, it is a very complete match.
They [Barcelona] were superior until they scored the goal, but we recovered. Nuno made an incredible play. I think we were better in the second half.
“We played well. It was difficult at the beginning. They have a lot of quality players.
“The first 20 minutes were tough, and we made mistakes. In the second half, we were better, and we deserved the win.”
