Senator Smart Adeyemi has stated that he did not join politics to make money but to serve his people
In an interview with Channels Television, Adeyemi said he was offered bribes on multiple occasions but rejected them. He also stated that at one point, someone offered him 10 million dollars, but he refused to accept it
In Adeyemi's words: "Unfortunately, even the masses they don't really care about those who they elect to some extent. They just assume everybody is going there to look for money. It is not all of us who came into politics came because we wanted money. I have had cause to reject bribe of 10 million dollars. I have had cause to say no and I have records to prove that somebody once offered me and brought the money to my house and I said, 'No please take this money away
