Nigerian Afrobeats star Oniyide Azeez, professionally known as Zinoleesky, has reportedly severed ties with Marlian Music, the record label founded by fellow artist Naira Marley. The development follows a cryptic Instagram post that the singer quickly deleted, fueling widespread speculation among fans and industry observers.
In the now-deleted post, Zinoleesky shared a powerful message about empowerment and fairness in the music industry:
"I'm standing up not just for myself but for every artist who's ever felt powerless or taken advantage of. We deserve better. We deserve transparency, fairness, and respect."
The statement was widely interpreted as a subtle jab at his former label and rapidly spread across social media before being removed.
This is not the first indication of tension between Zinoleesky and Marlian Music. The 24-year-old artist, who rose to fame after joining the label in 2019, has been under public scrutiny since the tragic death of former Marlian signee Mohbad in September 2023. Mohbad’s passing triggered intense backlash against Naira Marley and the label, with allegations of exploitation and mistreatment. A resurfaced video in which Mohbad accused Zinoleesky of disloyalty further strained the singer’s reputation and career trajectory.
Earlier signs of a potential split emerged in 2023 when Zinoleesky quietly removed "Marlian Music" from his Instagram bio, replacing it with "Zinonymous Sounds"—a move that reignited exit rumors at the time.
As of now, neither Zinoleesky nor Marlian Music has issued an official statement confirming or denying the separation. Online reactions remain divided: many fans have expressed strong support for the artist’s apparent decision, while others speculate it may be a strategic move to regain public attention.
