Tension at Kubwa General Hospital Abuja as Naval officers clash with staff over colleague’s death

A tense scene unfolded late Saturday at Kubwa  Hospital, Abuja, when a group of naval personnel stormed the facility, accusing medical staff of failing to save their colleague who had just been brought in from an accident.

According to early accounts, the officer was rushed into the emergency unit in critical condition but was pronounced dead moments after arrival.

The news infuriated his colleagues, who arrived shortly after and claimed the hospital team did not respond with the urgency the situation demanded.

The heated exchange quickly escalated.

In the chaos, one of the soldiers, overcome with anger, reportedly punched through the glass window at the reception area, shattering it and causing panic among patients and workers.

Police officers from FCT Command were called in and moved swiftly to restore order.

They managed to calm the aggrieved military personnel and escorted them out of the premises before the situation worsened.

Hospital operations have since returned to normal.

Authorities said discussions are ongoing with military leadership to ensure such confrontations are avoided in the future.
