Arsenal strengthened their position at the top of the Champions League standings with a convincing 3-1 win over Bayern Munich, while Liverpool collapsed at home to PSV and Tottenham were dragged into a goal-filled defeat by holders Paris Saint-Germain.
Arsenal 3-1 Bayern
Arsenal delivered another commanding performance to maintain their perfect record. Jurrien Timber opened the scoring after 22 minutes, heading in Bukayo Saka’s corner and giving the Gunners their tenth goal from a corner this season. Bayern hit back quickly as Joshua Kimmich found Serge Gnabry, who set up 17-year-old Lennart Karl for a close-range equaliser.
The response from Arsenal was strong. Noni Madueke restored the lead with a composed finish after Riccardo Calafiori’s driven cross, marking his first goal for the club. Eberechi Eze then produced a clever pass that sent Gabriel Martinelli through, and the forward rounded Manuel Neuer to seal Bayern’s first defeat of the season.
The victory leaves Arsenal on 15 points and firmly in control.
Liverpool 1-4 PSV
Liverpool’s struggles deepened with a damaging 4-1 loss to PSV at Anfield. The visitors struck early when Virgil van Dijk conceded a penalty for handball and Ivan Perisic converted. Dominic Szoboszlai levelled after reacting quickest to a rebound, and Liverpool briefly looked brighter as Cody Gakpo and van Dijk threatened.
PSV took charge when Guus Til finished a sharp through ball from Mauro Junior. Substitute Couhaib Driouech then took over, scoring twice late on. His first came from a rebound and his second was a low finish in stoppage time that stunned the home crowd. The result pushed PSV up to 15th while Liverpool slipped to 13th, adding to the pressure on Arne Slot.
PSG 5-3 Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur were beaten 5-3 by PSG despite leading twice. Richarlison gave Spurs a deserved advantage with a close-range header before Vitinha equalised just before the break with a crisp finish. Randal Kolo Muani restored the lead early in the second half, but PSG responded with a devastating burst of three goals in 12 minutes.
Vitinha levelled again with another fine strike, then Fabian Ruiz and Willian Pacho punished mistakes in the Spurs midfield and defence. Kolo Muani pulled one back with a powerful effort, but hopes of a turnaround disappeared when Vitinha completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot after Cristian Romero’s handball. PSG ended with ten men after Lucas Hernandez was sent off late on.
