2027 elections: Amaechi’s campaign posters flood Kaduna

Posters featuring former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, have appeared across major streets in Kaduna, fuelling speculation about early political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The campaign-style posters, printed in large A2 format, display Amaechi’s image alongside messages portraying him as a credible opposition figure.

The inscriptions emphasise themes such as unity, equality, stability and development, while describing him as a trusted leader and suitable candidate for the presidency.

No political party was indicated on the posters, although Amaechi is widely associated with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), a coalition party.

The materials were sighted at prominent locations, including Ahmadu Bello Way, Ali Akilu Way, areas around the Kaduna State Government House, and the busy Kawo Bridge axis leading to Zaria, attracting the attention of residents and political observers.

Amaechi, who holds the traditional title of Dan Amanan Kasar Hausa of Daura, has served as Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Governor of Rivers State, and Minister of Transportation between 2015 and 2023.

Amaechi previously contested the All Progressives Congress presidential primary in 2022, where he finished second behind Tinubu.
