Dembele named Globe Soccer ‘Best Male Player’ as Yamal also honoured [all prizes]

Ousmane Dembele capped a dominant 2025 by being named Best Male Player at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, underlining a year of individual and collective success for the Paris Saint-Germainforward.

Barcelona prodigy Lamine Yamal also left the ceremony with multiple accolades, speaking to his rapid rise at the top level.

Dembele completes awards clean sweep

The PSG star claimed the top honour at the Globe Soccer Awards to add to an already stacked year that included the Ballon d’Or and the FIFA Best Men’s Player award.

Dembele was recognised for a campaign in which he finally delivered on his long-promised potential, emerging as one of world football’s most decisive performers.

Champions League glory seals Dembele’s case

Dembele played a central role in PSG’s historic Champions League triumph, the club’s first ever.

He scored 35 goals across all competitions in the 2024/25 season, as PSG dismantled three Premier League sides in the knockout rounds before overpowering Inter Milan 5-0 in a one-sided final.

His output and consistency made him the standout candidate for the top individual prizes.

Yamal claims two awards despite missing top honour

While Dembele edged him for Best Male Player, 18-year-old Lamine Yamal still enjoyed a strong night in Dubai.

The Barcelona winger was named Best Forward and received the Diego Armando Maradona Award, recognising exceptional skill and flair. He had been shortlisted alongside Kylian Mbappe, Raphinha and Vitinha, further evidence of his growing elite status.

PSG dominate night of recognition

PSG emerged as the biggest overall winners at the ceremony. The club was named Best Men’s Club, Vitinha collected the Best Midfielder award, and Desire Doue was crowned Emerging Player.

Luis Enrique won Best Coach, while Luis Campos and Nasser Al-Khelaifi were recognised as Best Sporting Director and Best Sports President respectively.

Other major award winners

Elsewhere, Aitana Bonmati was named Best Female Player, Barcelona won Best Female Club, Cristiano Ronaldo picked up Best Middle Eastern Player, Portugal were awarded Best National Team, and Paul Pogba claimed Best Sports Comeback.
