Man Utd To Sell Four Players In January As Four-Man Transfer Shortlist Revealed

 Manchester United are preparing for further squad changes in January, with reports indicating that the club plans to offload four players to fund new signings. Ruben Amorim’s rebuild continues as United sit seventh in the Premier League after their recent 2-1 win over Crystal Palace, with Joshua Zirkzee and Mason Mount scoring in the second half.

Although United strengthened their attack over the summer, injuries to Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko have limited their options. Heading into January, midfield reinforcements are now viewed as the priority. ESPN reports that United want to bring in two midfielders, with Stuttgart’s Angelo Stiller considered the most realistic target. Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton, Brighton’s Carlos Baleba, and Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson are also on their shortlist.

However, Premier League financial rules mean United must bring in money through sales before securing new additions. The club already generated £40 million from selling academy graduate Alejandro Garnacho to Chelsea, but more room in the budget is required.

United are therefore ready to listen to offers for Joshua Zirkzee, Manuel Ugarte, Tyrell Malacia, and surprisingly, Kobbie Mainoo. Malacia, who trained away from the squad during the summer, has not played a minute this season despite returning to first-team training in September.

Zirkzee recently returned from a long injury absence and scored against Palace, but remains behind Sesko and Cunha when both are fit. Ugarte has struggled to find form and has rarely completed a full match.

Mainoo, still only 20, has not been able to secure regular minutes under Amorim. He requested a loan in the summer, but the manager rejected the idea, leaving him stuck behind Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes. With the World Cup approaching, his England chances are fading unless he finds consistent playing time. Everton, Tottenham, and Arsenal are all reportedly interested in him.
