AFCON: It worked – Egypt coach, Hassan reveals why his team defeated Ivory Coast

 

Egypt coach, Hossam Hassan has revealed why his team defeated Ivory Coast 3-2 in Saturday’s AFCON quarter-final tie in Morocco.

Hassan watched as goals from Mohamed Salah, Omar Marmoush, and Ramy Rabia gave his team the win over Ivory Coast.

Speaking at his post-match interview after the game, Hassan revealed that Egypt’s preparation made the difference during the encounter.

According to him, his game plan against Émerse Fae’s side worked well.

“Our preparation made the difference. We knew they were the reigning champions,” Hassan said.

“We respected them and put a game plan in place, which worked today. It’s true we also made mistakes in the match that cost us two goals, but we scored three.

“However, we will correct these shortcomings for the next matches.”
