A close-up video circulating online appears to show Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro stepping off a plane at Stewart Air National Guard Base in New York following his reported capture by United States forces.
The footage shows Maduro surrounded by U.S. federal agents as he walks down the aircraft stairs under heavy security.
Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, were captured during a surprise attack by special US forces on the Venezuelan capital, Caracas.
They were reportedly sleeping inside their residence at Caracas' high-security Ft Tiuna military compound during the pre-dawn raid.
On January 3, 2026, the United States launched an extraordinary military strike against Venezuela in what the Trump administration described as a decisive operation to apprehend Maduro and bring him to American soil.
President Donald Trump later announced via social media that Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, had been “captured and flown out of the country” following strikes across Caracas and other strategic sites.
