 Nollywood powerhouse and box office queen, Funke Akindele, has opened up about one of the most challenging periods of her life.

In a recent emotional interview, the actress cum producer, and now record breaking filmmaker reflected on her personal struggles while balancing career demands and public scrutiny.

“I lost my mom, my marriages, lost in politics while raising my kids alone and I broke down,” Funke said, revealing the toll life’s pressure had taken on her.

She spoke vulnerably about enduring heartbreaks and overwhelming responsibilities, especially while navigating motherhood and the political space.

Her brief political stint during the 2023 Lagos Stateelections added another layer to her journey, one that she describes as both enlightening and emotionally draining. Despite the setbacks, Funke emphasised the importance of mental health, healing, and resilience.
