In a lengthy statement circulated on social media, Fani-Kayode made a series of allegations about Momodu’s early life and career, claiming that he began as a bread hawker after graduating from university with a third-class degree.
He said, "After leaving University with a third class in Yoruba, Dele Momodu started off as a bread hawker on the street."
He further alleged that Momodu struggled to secure employment after leaving the Obafemi Awolowo University, before eventually finding opportunities in journalism.
Fani-Kayode also referenced the late business mogul, Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola, claiming that Momodu benefitted from his support early in his career, including involvement with ventures linked to Abiola.
The former minister went on to accuse Momodu of political inconsistency and opportunism, alleging that he has shifted alliances over the years, including relationships with prominent figures such as Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar
