My father did not support my music career – Singer, Asake

 Asake, real name Ahmed Ololade, has revealed that his father strongly opposed his choice of music as a career. 

The singer disclosed this in a recent interview with YouTuber, Korty EO. 

Asake added that his father's opposition of his career choice caused their relationship to become strained. 


He said he disobeyed his father and went after his dream regardless. 


The Sungba crooner said: “My dad and I were so close when I was younger. But it got to a time when I wanted to leave home to do what I’m doing now but my father said ‘No.’ I left regardless.” 

Recall that in March 2025, Asake’s father, Fatai Odunsi, made headlines when he accused the singer of neglect and abandonment. 

This led to backlash from Nigerians and Asake reconciled with his father.
