Seyi Makinde: Arrogance Will Destroy The Man, Makinde Is Arrogant, He Thinks Too Highly Of Himself-Fayose

Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has openly criticized Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, describing his leadership style as arrogant and potentially self-destructive.

Fayose made the remarks during an interview on Channels Television, where he spoke candidly about political developments and personalities within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Known for his outspoken nature, Fayose did not hold back in his assessment of Makinde’s conduct in office.

In the interview, Fayose stated, “Arrogance will destroy the man. Makinde is arrogant. Makinde thinks too highly of himself.” The former governor suggested that such an attitude could alienate allies and weaken political influence if not addressed. His comments have since sparked conversations within political circles, particularly among PDP supporters and stakeholders.

Fayose’s criticism appears to reflect ongoing tensions within the party, especially among influential figures in the South-West region. While he did not provide specific incidents to back his claims, his remarks point to perceived concerns about leadership style and internal party relations.

Governor Makinde, who has often been praised by supporters for his governance and infrastructural strides in Oyo State, has yet to publicly respond to Fayose’s comments. However, political observers note that such public criticisms could deepen divisions within the PDP if not managed carefully.

The development underscores the persistent challenges of unity within political parties in Nigeria, where personal differences and leadership styles often shape alliances. Analysts say how the PDP navigates these internal disagreements may influence its cohesion and electoral prospects ahead of future elections.
