Destiny Boy’s Autopsy Out, See What Killed Him

 The autopsy report on late Nigerian singer Afeez Adesina, popularly known as Destiny Boy, has revealed that his death was caused by aspiration pneumonitis resulting from the ingestion of toxic substances.

According to Daily Trust, the Police Homicide Section conducted the postmortem, and the results were released about a week ago.

DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the Police spokesperson, confirmed the findings. The toxicology report showed harmful levels of tramadol and its metabolites, as well as methamphetamine, in the deceased’s body. The terse official statement reads:

The Consultant Anatomic Pathologist reported that toxicology results revealed harmful levels of tramadol and its metabolites, as well as methamphetamine, and opined that the cause of death was aspiration pneumonitis resulting from the ingestion of these toxic substances, with the date of death being 17/01/2026.”

Although the report lists January 17, 2026, as the date of death, the singer was reported to have passed away suddenly on January 18, 2026.

This sad development has once again drawn attention to the dangers of substance abuse among young artists in the Nigerian music industry.
