Yoruba Nollywood actress Damilola Oni has opened up about her relationship status, explaining that her decision to remain single is intentional and based on her personal standards.
In an exclusive interview with Oyinmomo TV, the actress made it clear that her current status is not due to a lack of attention but rather a matter of choice. According to her, although she receives advances from men, most of them do not meet the qualities she desires in a life partner.
“I’m not married. I’m currently single. Very single. The fact is that most of the men that make advances at me are not usually my spec,” she said.
Oni emphasized that she is not in a hurry to settle down simply because there are interested suitors. Instead, she believes in waiting patiently for someone who aligns with her values, lifestyle, and expectations. For her, marriage is a serious commitment that requires careful consideration rather than impulsive decisions.
She further explained that relationships are part of a broader life journey and should not be rushed. “Also, when you’re not at your destination, you’ll keep moving ahead. When I meet the right person, I’ll know,” she added.
The actress noted that she trusts her instincts when it comes to choosing a partner and is determined to remain true to herself despite societal pressure. While she did not provide specific details about what she looks for in a partner, she maintained that she has a clear idea of what suits her.
Her perspective reflects a growing mindset among individuals who prioritize compatibility and long-term fulfillment over rushing into marriage. Oni’s approach highlights the importance of self-awareness, patience, and personal conviction in relationships.
She also expressed confidence that, at the right time, she will recognize the person who truly complements her. “I will know when I meet the right person,” she stated.
