UEFA Champions League Top Scorer’s Table

The UEFA Champions League Quarter Final First Leg games have been played across Europe and the Goal scoring department has again been influenced.

Leading Top Scorer Kylian Mbappe was on the scorer’s sheet for Real Madrid in their 1-2 loss to Bayern Munich. The French man scored the only Goal for his Team in the game after missing chances. He put his goals tally to 14 and 1 assist after playing 10 Champions League games this season. Mbappe is now leading 2nd placed Harry Kane on the scorer’s log by 3 goals. He remains the favorite to finish above others in this category this season.

Harry Kane’s beautiful goal for Bayern Munich in their victorious show at the Santiago Benerbeu over Real Madrid put his goal figures to 11 without any assist in 10 matches played so far this season. His goal sealed victory for the German side as he made it goal number 32 for Bayern in all competitions. He is just 3 goals behind Mbappe the leading scorer and might just be his greatest contender based on the fact that if Bayern knocked out Real Madrid in the second leg of their Quarterfinal clash, scoring more goals in the semifinals will give him some level of advantage over Mbappe.

Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez also scored a fantastic free kick in their 0-2 victory over Barcelona, a goal that earned him his 9th League goal. He is now 5 goals behind Mbappe and only 2 behind Harry Kane. He’s also a Major contender as Atletico are 1 leg in the Semi Finals.

As it stands, the return Leg will surely determine who have the biggest advantage of finishing at the top and as the season progresses the right owner of the 1st seat in the goal scoring department would be known.
