The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has announced the passing of his immediate elder brother, Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi.
According to A report from Vanguard, the announcement was made in a statement issued on Sunday by the palace's Director of Media and Public Affairs, Sodiq Lawal.
The monarch described the late prince as a respected businessman whose life was dedicated to family, entrepreneurship and humanitarian service.
According to the Ooni, the death of Prince Adetunji is a painful loss to the Ogunwusi family, the Ojaja Royal Dynasty and the people of Ile-Ife.
Born on December 8, 1967, Prince Adetunji was a member of the Ojaja lineage of the Giesi Ruling House in Ile-Ife. Until his passing, he served as the Group Chairman of Primewaterview Holdings.
Paying tribute to his late brother, the Ooni described him as a dependable member of the royal family, admired for his integrity, compassion, business leadership and commitment to helping others.
The monarch noted that Prince Adetunji's impact extended beyond the business community, as he touched many lives through generosity, wise counsel and selfless service while remaining committed to the values of the Ojaja Royal Family.
The Ooni urged members of the Ogunwusi family and the people of Ile-Ife to take comfort in the enduring legacy left behind by the late prince, praying for the peaceful repose of his soul and for strength for his family, friends and associates during this difficult time.
