Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has opened up about the secret behind her youthful appearance, saying that a fulfilling relationship and healthy intimacy play a significant role in a woman's confidence and radiance.
On The Morayo Show, presented by broadcaster Morayo Afolabi-Brown, the 48-year-old actress discussed relationships, marriage, and her romance with music executive and talent manager Paulo Okoye.
Ojo frankly denied that marriage or singlehood affects a woman's happiness or attractiveness in the interview.
The actress believes a strong, supporting relationship with the proper partner is most important.
Single mothers are joyful. I think some married women are content. She didn't think it was about being single or married.
Ojo believes that closeness has a positive impact on women's well-being and confidence, stating that she has plenty of it due to her relationship. Sex affects women's radiance. I've got enough. People with marriage certificates may not be getting enough "said.
The actress described her connection with Paulo Okoye as one of respect, understanding, and emotional support, beyond intimacy.
She says they've maintained a strong relationship by appreciating each other's individuality and giving each other space, despite their demanding occupations.
"We're two mature people and two very busy people, but the most important thing is to understand each other, to support each other and to be there for each other," said.
She recognised that conflicts are unavoidable in relationships, but emphasised the importance of respect in their partnership. Our ups and downs. It's normal, but respect is most important. "We respect our space and do what we do and move on," she said.
Iyabo Ojo and Paulo Okoye confirmed their relationship in December 2022, following months of rumours. Since then, the couple has attended entertainment events and family celebrations and posted about their relationship on social media.
In an earlier interview, Ojo said she hesitated to date Paulo because they both work in entertainment. She said she finally accepted the arrangement after asking trusted coworkers about his marital status.
Nigeria's largest talent management company Upfront & Personal Global Management was founded by Paulo Okoye. He organises One Africa Music Fest, an annual worldwide concert including African musicians and entertainers.
