Seyi Makinde Reacts As President Tinubu Says No Ransom Was Paid For The Freedom Of Oyo Schoolchildren

The Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde has reacted after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu said no ransome was paid for the freedom of the Oyo schoolchildren.

The reaction of the governor of Oyo state was contained in a report that was published on the official X handle of THE CABLE on Friday, July 10, 2026. 

This is coming after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu said the school children were rescued by security operatives unharmed.

Here is what President Bola Ahmed Tinubu wrote on his official X handle;

"The children and teachers abducted by Ansaru terrorists in Oyo state have been rescued by our security forces, alive and unharmed. No ransom was paid. No concession was made".

However, in the report that surfaced online, Seyi Makinde thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and security agencies for rescuing the children. He said he's very happy. 

Here is what Seyi Tinubu said according to THE CABLE;

"It's such a big relief for all of us. I am overjoyed and can hardly say much. Thank you to all our security operatives and the President for pushing hard to have this done".
