France attacking midfielder, Michael Olise, on Saturday, beat late Brazilian football legend, Pele’s record for assists in a single World Cup campaign.
Olise achieved this feat after providing two assists in France’s World Cup third-place final 6-4 defeat to England.
His two assists against the Les Bleus mean the Bayern Munich star has now provided seven assists in this 2026 World Cup, breaking Pele’s record of six assists during the 1970 World Cup tournament held in Mexico.
Five of Olise’s assists were to teammate Kylian Mbappe, a record for one player to another over the period.
The Bayern Munich star, however, failed to score a goal at the World Cup.
