Singer Ayra Starr has shared her views on financial differences in relationships, saying she believes she could become controlling if she dated a man who was less wealthy than her.
Speaking on an episode of the Wahala podcast, which was reported by Daily Post on Friday August 28, 2026, the ‘Bloody Samaritan’ hitmaker discussed how financial disparity could influence the dynamics of a relationship.
Ayra Starr said that even if she were financially better off than her partner, she would still expect him to take responsibility for providing in the relationship.
She also disclosed that she would not reveal the full extent of her wealth to her partner, saying she would prefer to keep her financial status private.
In her words, “If I date a man who I am richer than, I will control him. But even if I am richer, he will still be providing, and I won’t let him know I have a lot of money."
