Anthony Joshua has shaken up his coaching setup ahead of his December 12 bout against Tyson Fury in Cardiff, bringing in trainer Ben Davison alongside Peter Fury—the uncle and former trainer of his opponent.
Following recent victories working alongside Iegor Golub, Joshua has opted to reunite with Ben Davison, who previously cornered him for three fights between 2023 and 2024.
However, the most striking addition to the training camp is Peter Fury, who masterminded Tyson Fury’s 2015 upset victory over Wladimir Klitschko before an acrimonious split with his nephew.

Speaking to the media ahead of Wednesday's kickoff press conference in London, Anthony Joshua confirmed the arrangement:
“I speak to Peter Fury. He's willing to help me as well. Yeah, I'll speak to him. [Peter] has given me some good ideas about our training and our approach, how I can approach this fight and where I can improve. What I've got to do is take control of my fight with [Tyson] Fury, but also add their touch. And with these two powerhouses coming together, I think it will be a match made in heaven. I do believe that.”
The historic rivalry took center stage during the London press conference as both heavyweights recalled their infamous 2011 sparring sessions.
“There was a thing about a Rolex watch, as well,” Tyson Fury recalled. “If anyone could drop me, I'd give them a Rolex watch, which he said in the past — and guess what? I left that building with a f***ing Rolex on.”
“He left the ring with his Rolex watch, but he also left the ring with a black eye as well,” Joshua countered.
Despite the pre-fight verbal sparring, both fighters displayed mutual respect during the event, with Tyson Fury acknowledging his opponent's career achievements while predicting a definitive victory when they step into the ring at the Principality Stadium.
