Jide Kosoko, a veteran Nigerian actor and film director, has stated that he would not allow anyone to deceive him into believing that traditional herbal remedies, commonly known as Agbo, can cure diabetes, a condition he has been managing since 1996.
In an interview with Biola Adebayo Ent, Kosoko explained that his daily activities had contributed significantly to managing his health over the years. He said his long experience with diabetes had helped him understand his condition and the importance of taking proper care of himself.
The veteran actor maintained that he understood his health well enough not to rely on claims that herbal remedies could cure the illness. He stressed the need for people living with diabetes to understand their condition and focus on proper management rather than believing unverified claims about traditional remedies.
In Kosoko’s words: “My daily activities help my health so much. I became diabetic in 1996, and I’ve been managing it. I understand my health more than some doctors. I refuse to allow anybody to deceive me that any Agbo can solve it. We are aware of the causes of high blood sugar, and as such, you just need to understand our ailments."
