Nigerian lady relocates back home from UK with two kids after ex-husband opposed her working.

A 30-year-old Nigerian mother of two, Halima, has shared her emotional journey of relocating back to Nigeria from the United Kingdom following a bitter marital breakdown.

In an emotional video posted online, Halima said in 2022 she moved to the UK with her two children to join her husband who was a main applicant on a student visa, while she and their two kids were his dependants.

She said before leaving Nigeria, the couple reached a common agreement standard among many immigrant families: Halima would work extensive hours to fund her husband’s tuition fees and support household expenses. She said successfully fulfilled her part of the agreement, heavily contributing to his school fees and later helping him finance a personal vehicle once he graduated and secured a full-time work visa.

She said the dynamics, however, shifted after this. Halima alleged that her ex-husband began expressing discontent with her work schedule, accusing her of prioritizing her job over childcare. She noted that she frequently had to cancel her lucrative work shifts because her husband would schedule last-minute appointments, leaving no one else to care for their children. According to her, whenever disputes arose, he would remind her that he brought her to the UK and label her ungrateful.

She said that she reported the situation to her husband's brother, but he sided with her husband and blamed her for their issues. She explained that after family interventions failed, she filed for divorce and officially moved back to Nigeria with their two children in July 2026.

She concluded her narrative by revealing that she has since established her independence and is successfully rebuilding her life back home
