A Nigerian lady has sparked conversations online after advising Christian women to avoid sexual relationships with men, even when dating them or receiving financial support from them.
In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), the woman encouraged women who believe in God to maintain their sexual boundaries, arguing that celibacy has a spiritual significance that many may not understand until they practise it.
She explained that women could accept money from men, spend time with them and enjoy their company without engaging in sexual activities.
In her words, she said:
“I’ll advise you to do anything with a man, but don’t sleep with a man. Especially if you are a Christian and somebody who believes in God. You can collect his money, date him, go out with him and spend some alone time with him, but don’t have any sexual activity with him.
I’ve been celibate for five years now, and there is a spiritual side to this thing. It is only when you start that you can understand.”
Her statement have drawn attention to conversations about celibacy, Christian values and the role of sexual abstinence in personal spirituality.
