Kaaba Decorated in Nigerian Flag Colours as President Tinubu Enters Holy Site in Makkah [Photos]

The Holy Kaaba in Makkah was seen decorated with the colours of the Nigerian national flag as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was granted access to enter the sacred structure at Masjid al-Haram.

According to a media post by Honourable Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, on Sunday, November 1, 2026, the event marked a special moment during the President's visit to the holy city.

President Tinubu was accompanied by Sheikh Dahlulah Muthawal of Masjid al-Haram and the President's State Protocol Officer, Ahmad Zafeer, during the opening of the Holy Kaaba to the Nigerian leader in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

The Nigerian flag colours, green and white, were prominently featured in the reported decoration, reflecting the country's national identity during the occasion.

It was revealed that the visit has drawn attention because entering the Holy Kaaba is a rare privilege, traditionally reserved for selected dignitaries and special guests.

President Tinubu's visit to Makkah is part of his religious engagement in Saudi Arabia, where he is also participating in the lesser Hajj (Umrah).
