Emir Sanusi Lamido Spotted Playing with His Grandson at His Lodge in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Former Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi, has once again warmed hearts on social media after a wholesome moment of him playing with his grandson surfaced online. The revered traditional ruler was seen enjoying a lighthearted time with the young boy at his private residence in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

In the short clip making rounds online, Sanusi clad in a relaxed traditional attire could be seen smiling affectionately as he engaged in playful interaction with his grandson, who ran gleefully around the spacious living area of the lodge. The tender moment has since been widely shared, with many Nigerians praising the former Emir’s softer side away from his usual image as a scholar, economist, and statesman

Observers noted the calm and peaceful setting of the lodge, which appears to reflect Sanusi’s more reflective lifestyle since relocating to Saudi Arabia following his dethronement in 2020. Though he remains a highly respected voice in Islamic and intellectual circles, it is rare to see such intimate family moments shared publicly.
The former Emir, who currently resides in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia where he often participates in religious and academic engagements, has largely kept a low profile, making this rare glimpse into his personal life all the more cherished by followers and admirers.
