A Chinese woman identified as Mrs Jiang was shocked to find little chicks around her home when she returned from a trip.

Woman returns from holiday to find 70 chicks have hatched from her store bought eggs

Mrs Jiang bought three cartons of eggs before heading out for a short trip. Two days later, she returned to high-pitched chirping and fluffy yellow chicks across the floor.

“I thought I was hallucinating,” she told Chinese media.

The eggs had been sitting out in the summer heat, and that heat had essentially turned her kitchen into a giant incubator. Out of 90 eggs, 70 managed to hatch.

Most grocery store eggs are infertile, so what happened in this case is extremely rare.

Mrs Jiang and her family quickly created a makeshift chick shelter with old sweaters and fed them warm rice porridge using syringes.

In the end, two of the chicks became house pets, while the rest were relocated to her parents’ rural home.

Below is a video she recorded after returning home to find 70 chicks running around.
