Martínez Completes Free Transfer to Al Nassr from Barcelona
FC Barcelona defender Iñigo Martínez has officially left the club after mutually terminating his contract to join Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League as a free agent.
The 33-year-old Spanish centre-back will sign a deal with the Riyadh-based side running until June 2026, with an option to extend for an additional year until June 2027.
Martínez’s departure comes as Barcelona continue efforts to ease their financial constraints, with the move freeing up an estimated €14 million in salary spacefor the Catalan giants.
Since joining Barcelona from Athletic Bilbao in 2023, Martínez made limited appearances due to injuries and competition for places in Xavi’s squad. The transfer offers him a fresh start in Saudi Arabia, where he will link up with high-profile stars including Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mané.
Al Nassr are expected to officially unveil Martínez in the coming days as they strengthen their defensive options for the upcoming season.
