Esther Jemkwe, a 40-year-old housewife from Nasarawa State, shocked her community after confessing to an affair with her 23-year-old stepson to conceive a child for her husband. Esther revealed that her husband, Audu, became impotent soon after their 2022 marriage, leading to pressure from relatives, especially her mother-in-law, over her childlessness.
Feeling desperate and emotionally strained, Esther said she turned to her husband’s son, Theophilus, for support. Their secret relationship throughout 2025 resulted in a pregnancy, confirming Esther’s ability to have children but sparking conflict at home.
When her husband denied the pregnancy and accused her of infidelity, Esther was asked to leave the marital home. Despite the turmoil, she insists her actions were driven by love and the wish to save her marriage.
